Menus

File Menu
The File menu contains the standard options found in most Windows applications:

New
Creates a new file for your exercise data. Normally, you would use one file to contain all the data about all of your exercises. You may want to use New if you re-start training after a long break, or if you want to save your data in more than one file.

Open
Use this to select the file containing your previously saved data each time you restart the AlwaysGaining application.

Close
Unloads your exercise data file from the AlwaysGaining application

Save
Saves any changes you have made to your exercise data file. By default, the data file has the extension wtd. Once saved, this file can be archived or saved on a floppy disk, just like any other application's data (e.g. a word processor or spreadsheet data file.)

Save As
Saves your exercise data file under a different name. May also be used to select the name for your exercise data file the first time you save it.

Page Setup
Set up the printer before you print your exercise data.

Print
Prints a hard copy of your exercise data.

Exit
Exits the AlwaysGaining application

View
This menu item contains 2 entries that control how your data is displayed: These can also be accessed via toolbar buttons By Weight
This displays a graph with increasing weights from left to right. Only the weights you have entered will be shown. The height of each bar represents the number of reps you are doing at that weight. The bar for your best weight is shown as 100%, and all other bars show your reps as a percentage of the number you should be able to achieve.

By Reps
This displays a graph with increasing reps from left to right. There are spaces for each number of reps up to 40, and bars are shown in the appropriate columns for the data you have entered. The height of each bar represents the weight you are using at that number of reps. The bar for your best rep number is shown as 100%, and all other bars show your the weight as a percentage of the weight you should be able to achieve.

Also:
Show Welcome
This option controls whether or not the Welcome screen is shown at startup. If the Welcome screen has been disabled by selecting its "Don't show this again" option, it can be re-enabled by clicking this menu entry.

Actions
This menu contains 3 items to modify your exercise data:

Add Exercise
Allows you to add a complety new exercise to you data (e.g. Bench Press).

This can also be accessed via a toolbar button

Delete Exercise
Allows you to remove an old exercise that you no longer use. This is never necessary, but you may like to keep your data file tidy

Edit Exercise Data
This option brings up a box that allows you to edit the data for you the current exercise. This means that you can enter a new weight with the reps for that weight, change the number of reps for an existing weight or delete an old weight.
Remember, the exercises are stored By Weight, so as you improve, you can change the reps for that weight, but when you outgrow the weight, you will need to delete it. Otherwise it will always show on the graphs. This can also be accessed via a toolbar button.
